Webinar on Civil Society engagement in the development of Bankable Projects for GCF financing

The Pan African Justice Alliance (PACJA) and CARE International on behalf of the implementing partners of the "Civil Society Organisations readiness to the Green Climate Fund (GCF) - focus Africa" project coordinated by Germanwatch and CARE International working with various national and regional CSOs across Africa, including PACJA, have the pleasure to invite you to an Online Webinar to be held on Friday, 27th April 2018 from 10:00 - 11:30 GMT.

The Webinar will focus on how African Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) can effectively participate in the Green Climate Fund (GCF) project/concept development and implementation processes at the country(national) level.  It will further seek to provide insights on capacities to support development if bankable projects and as well explore various ways to partner with accredited entities to develop strong cases for bankable projects. 

The meeting will also aim at sharing outcomes of the 19th Board meeting of the GCF in view of funding proposals and as well the GCF project approval processes. We wish to extend an invitation to you to speak and provide insights/perspectives during the session on ‘Developing bankable projects for GCF financing’ as in the below agenda.

 

The Webinar agenda:

  • Overview of GCF funding proposal process and ongoing discussion – Sven Harmeling, CARE
  • Developing bankable projects for GCF financing -Ben Bartle, ECO
  • GCF funded projects in Africa – Challenges and opportunities, how can CSOs be involved – Mr. Benedict, Environmental Investment Fund (Direct Access Entity, Namibia)
  • Working with the NDAs/ focal points to effectively engage in concept/proposal development –  Place of CSOs in national level concept/project development processes – NDA
  • Discussions and Way Forward

This Webinar will be held online via “Webex” platform to enable interested stakeholder to take part in the discussions.
